When Colette took her senior year exam, she was obviously pregnant. She claimed that after taking a test on Wednesday, she gave birth to a child the following Saturday.
She was the first student in the university’s history to receive a first-class degree from the Department of Linguistics and Communications Studies, according to a statement from the school.
Bassey Colette Offiong broke the record and became the first-ever and only student from linguistics and Nigerian languages to earn a first-class grade in the 2018/2019 academic year after so many years.
She wrote:
“To God be the glory. I remember finishing exams on a certain Wednesday and giving birth that Saturday. It was one her of a ride but it ended in praise.”
